Minerva Tower rises majestically on Punta della Campanella, the extreme tip of the Sorrento Peninsula. It extends toward the island of Capri, to which it was once connected.

The tower was built in 1334 on the initiative of Roberto d’Angiò, King of Naples, as an initial measure against the growing threat of pirate raids. Together with its lighthouse, it underwent renovation and consolidation works over time. But despite its stunning natural setting and significant history, the tower now lies abandoned.

Participants in this competition were asked to reuse the watchtower as an artist residency that provides accommodation for individuals and groups to develop performances and create art while being surrounded by the sea.

Join the mission to Reuse the Church!

Santa Maria di Settefonti stands on the hills south of Ozzano dell’Emilia, overlooking the Idice valley and surrounded by the natural beauty of the Gessi Bolognesi and Calanchi dell’Abbadessa Park. Once part of a medieval fortified settlement, the church was rebuilt in 1691 on Romanesque foundations and later damaged during World War II. Today, only the façade and bell tower remain.
